About The Baths

The Baths, with its Natural Hot Water Springs of 43º Celsius, is situated only two hours drive from Cape Town on a citrus farm in the scenic Olifants River Valley, near the town of Citrusdal in the Western Cape of South Africa. Established in 1739 this self-catering resort, with handsome Victorian-style stone buildings, maintains an old world charm in a scenic, rural setting.

Accommodation includes 16 chalets and 19 flats with self-contained kitchens and braai areas. There are 25 well shaded caravan and camping sites with ablution facilities and all have electrical points.

In addition to the hot and cold water swimming pools and hot mineral spring water baths, relaxing pastimes include tennis, trampoline, pool table, small playground for children, hiking trails, mountain biking and bird watching.
MacGregors' Restaurant with its mouthwatering a la carte menu offers an alternative to self-catering or the opportunity to relax with sundowners on the deck. A shop on site sells self-catering necessities.

The owners of The Baths have a policy of non-commercialisation, as we want to promote outdoor living in a relaxed, yet comfortable atmosphere. We do have selected dstv channels in certain units. An internet HotSpot is available at MacGregor's Restaurant .

The hot and cold swimming pools, natural rock pools and all the private, hot, mineral spring water baths have spring water from the source. Relax in total privacy in your own private room in spring water at 43º Celsius.
